ABSTRACT

The perspectives of the use of sugar beets and their processed products, wheat and corn for the alternative fuel production were discussed in the paper. The suggestions how to ensure the competitiveness of bioethanol production using processed sugar beets in Ukraine were discussed; the processing of molasses for bio-ethanol appeared to be the most cost-effective. The cost calculations of the bio-ethanol production from processed sugar beet depending on the price of beets, type of bio-raw materials and processing technology were presented. The predictive calculation of bioethanol production based on sugar beet productivity in Ukraine was made.
