Ask any independent professional about his or her biggest challenge and you will hear several common refrains. While getting set up and paying your taxes are tough and sometimes a pain, they are at least concrete challenges that can be solved by getting good advice from your trifecta of experts. However, beyond such practical matters as protecting yourself from lawsuits and avoiding tax penalties, some other issues are unique to the world of working independently.
