ABSTRACT

In the summer of 2007, Penelope Trunk was the image of a successful businesswoman. Living in New York City, an entrepreneur and veteran of three startups, Penelope was at the very top of the game. She worked 80+ hours a week, engaging two nannies to provide round the clock childcare for her two children-a refrain that is all too common as women attempt to balance a high-paying, high-powered job with the needs of their families. Penelope, like Sheryl Sandberg, had created a life that revolved around one thing-work. But when she was faced with a huge upheaval in her life that ultimately culminated in divorce, she had to make a big change.
