ABSTRACT
Oftentimes projects within an ES&H organization are started but not completed because of a lack of structure and focus. Utilizing project management to approach these projects can optimize the ability of the ES&H manager to get projects accomplished and increase organizational efficiency. Project management is simply a process of planning, organizing, controlling, and directing resources for a defined period of time in order to complete a defined goal. The project management approach to ES&H management is a proactive and progressive way to manage the diversity of tasks and activities that are required to be performed in the effort to protect the worker, the environment, and the community.
