ABSTRACT

Today’s business environment is for the most part managed and implemented through the use of technology and technological advances. The ES&H profession is no exception when it comes to taking advantage of using technology to improve the way business is conducted. Many managers and professionals were taught how to perform calculations, provide direct field support, understand and recognize regulatory noncompliances, monitor environmental conditions using handheld instruments and manually recording data, and conduct meetings in a room with all meeting participants. In today’s world ES&H is routinely conducting business using electronic devices and software that is tailored to provide ready answers for field estimates, and meetings are conducted via telephone or videoconferencing.
