ABSTRACT
Drugs and nutrients share certain attributes, including physicochemical characteristics, capacity to modulate physiological processes, and doserelated toxicity. Mechanisms by which drugs may react with nutrients are similar to those by which nutrients can react with nonnutrient com ponents of food. These mechanisms include physicochemical, physio logical, and toxicological interactions.
