ABSTRACT
Since each LSS project requires a huge investment in terms of time and resources, it needs to be ensured that projects requiring such levels of detailed study only are selected as LSS projects. Hence, the problems where solutions are obvious should not be considered as LSS projects. In other words, when the root cause of a problem is unknown from the start of problem solving, this would be a good candidate for an LSS project (Breyfogle 2003).
