Training Considerations in Wildlife Detection

Conservation detection dogs are detection dogs trained to find targets valuable to the preservation of native species. While these targets may include poachers’ tools such as snares and weapons, which can result in the illegal death of animals, or even invasive plants, which threaten to overtake an ecosystem, this chapter contends specifically with wildlife targets.
