ABSTRACT

Transport properties of films on a basis chitosan and medicinal substance are investigated. Sorption and diffusive properties of films are studied. Diffusion coefficients are calculated. Kinetic curves of release of the amikacin, having abnormal character are shown. The analysis of the obtained data showed that a reason for rejection of regularities of process of transport of medicinal substance from chitosan films from the classical Fikovsky mechanism are structural changes in a polymer matrix, including owing to its chemical modification at interaction with medicinal substance

Systems with controlled transport of medicines are the extremely demanded [1, 2]. Research of regularities of processes of diffusion of water and medicinal substance in polymer films and opportunities of control of release of medicines became the purpose of this work. As a matrix for the immobilization of drugs used naturally occurring polysaccharide chitosan, which has a number of valuable properties: nontoxicity, biocompatibility, high physiological activity [3], as well as a drug used aminoglycoside antibiotic series-amikacin, actively applied in the treatment of pyogenic infections of the skin and soft tissue. 3.2 EXPERIMENTALS

The object of investigation was a chitosan (ChT) specimen produced by the company “Bioprogress” (Russia) and obtained by acetic deacetylation of crab chitin (degree of deacetylation ~84%) with Msd=334,000. As the medicinal substance (MS) used an antibiotic amikacin (AM)—quadribasic aminoglycoside, used in the form of salts − sulfate (AMS) and chloride (AMCh). Chemical formulas of objects of research and their symbols used in the text, are given in Table 3.1.
