ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the reader to several classical problems related to transportation systems analysis. Some of these classical problems serve to develop a foundation formore sophisticated problems closer to those faced in real life. Several simplifications serve to facilitate the formulation, and as we advance, more elements will be brought into the model. The problems will take advantage of methods learnt in previous chapters using tools readily available in Excel. More advanced and complex problems may need to be solved elsewhere.
