ABSTRACT

This attribute type of audit can be used when evaluating a supplier. One list of questions can be applied to all suppliers. Alternatively, there can be different checklists for different kinds of suppliers, e.g., a metal-plating company will have a different checklist from a metal-casting supplier. Such an audit is used to determine if a supplier can or cannot meet certain requirements. This type of audit may also be applied to a process or procedure to verify if the procedure is, or is not, meeting certain requirements. Such audits have several advantages:

• They are easy to do. • They take less time. • They require only minimal auditor training and audit-

ing skill. • The quality and depth of the audits are consistent.
