ABSTRACT

The most common type of nystagmus was vertical nystagmus, but there were also other kinds of nystagmus, some of asymetric form. A great care was given to the torsional conditions of the eyes prior and after surgery. After surgery, oscillopsia and anomalous head posture due to nystagmus improved dramatically. However, diplopia was not always curable in cases of oculomotor palsy, especially because of poor fusional capacities and subjective torsion.
