ABSTRACT
Among all the elements, carbon is the one with the largest number of structures, with 23 listed in the ]CPDS files and consisting only of carbon. With the recent discovery of the fullerenes, the number of possible structures appears to be limitless . The present Chapter will examine the solid state structure of pure fullerenes, their place in the family of structures formed by pure carbon, and the factors responsible for their organisation in the solid state.
