ABSTRACT
There is a wide range of congenital limb defects, but fortunately most of them are rare. It is not yet pos sible to give a causal classification, because the intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms controlling development are poorly understood. A descriptive account of some of the simpler limb abnormalities follows.
