The Ligament of Treitz The ligament of Treitz suspends the duodeno-jejunal junction from the L transverse process of vertebra L2. Proximally, the ligament contains striated muscle fibers (myotubes at 10 weeks), continuous with the L crus of the diaphragm. Smooth muscle (10 weeks) completes the ligament distally.
