Tunica Albuginea Testis In the 7th week, this fibrous capsule appears beneath the gonadal mesothelium (Figure la). Its early prominence (8th week) distinguishes the testis from the ovary.
Rete Testis From the 8th week, the sex cords anastomose, forming the rete testis. In the 11th week, the stromal tissue embedding the rete becomes increasingly fibrous, form ing the mediastinum testis (Figure lb). The rete cords are not canalized until the 8th month.
