Ciyptorchid Testis This occurs in 3% of full-term male infants (Figure 2). If the testis fails to descend at all, it retains a high abdomi­ nal, retroperitoneal position. If descent is initiated but incomplete, it may be found anywhere along the normal gubernacular track, from the pelvic brim to the superfi­ cial inguinal ring. The usual site of testicular arrest is in the inguinal canal (Figure 3).
