Ciyptorchid Testis This occurs in 3% of full-term male infants (Figure 2). If the testis fails to descend at all, it retains a high abdomi nal, retroperitoneal position. If descent is initiated but incomplete, it may be found anywhere along the normal gubernacular track, from the pelvic brim to the superfi cial inguinal ring. The usual site of testicular arrest is in the inguinal canal (Figure 3).
