ABSTRACT
INFERTILITY The chance of conception per month of trying is known as the fecundibility. Fecundibility averages 25% for a healthy couple in their twenties. Sixty percent of young couples will have conceived after 6 months and 85% after 12 months. Infertility is defined as the failure of a couple to conceive after 1 year of trying. Fecundibility declines and infertility increases with age. This is partic ularly marked in women.
