ABSTRACT

The tests described in this chapter are wide-ranging and measure a variety of different properties related to performance and integrity which have not been considered elsewhere in the book. Many of the durability tests described in Chapter 7 and chemical tests in Chapter 9 are also related to performance, and load testing has been covered in Chapter 6. Integrity tests are generally concerned with the location and development of voids, cracks and other features which are not visible at the surface but may influence structural or durability performance. The effect of thermal histories on strength development is also considered.
