ABSTRACT

The book deals with quantization methods for linear differential equations. This is a well-developed area comprising a large variety of topics, many of which are covered in the book in detail. The introduction is intended to give the reader an idea of what the book is about and outline the main directions developed in it. Here we address the following issues:

• what problems for differential equations are considered and in what setting;

• what is the essence of quantization methods to be used;

• how these methods apply to differential equations and why the applications are possible and useful.
