ABSTRACT

We are postponing the general analysis of the transport phenomena in a nonisothermal multispecies plasma in the presence of magnetic fields to another chapter. Here we consider a simpler case of an isothermal (one-temperature) plasma in the absence of the magnetic field. The case in point is a description of transport phenomena in a common multicomponent gas mixture under the influence of gradients of local thermodynamic parameters and external fields where the electric field E is an inherent explicit part. Let us limit ourselves to the 13N-moment approximation 1 in which case the original equations are taken to be Eqs. ( 4.4.1 )-( 4.4.3) with B = 0. It is convenient to present these equations as [1]

L n[;:kr (wa - wp) = - pdQ + L {ap (~-~) I P~a n atf 1 P~a mpnp mana

(5.1.2)

1To be precise, it is a 12N +!-approximation as all the temperatures Ta are equal toT.
