ABSTRACT
M g 2 S i of the binary systems M g - Y and M g - S i . The polythermal section M g - X was
suggested to be the pseudobinary system of eutectic type with eutectic temperature 552°C.
Moreover, two invariant four-phase equilibria were established, L + X ^ 1 ^ ( M g ) + M g 2 4 Y 5 at
636°C and L ^ ( M g ) + M g 2 S i + X at 637°C. Solubility of Y in solid M g decreased with
increasing S i content in the M g - Y - S i alloys.
