ABSTRACT
In recent years many new families of compounds with d and / electrons have been synthesized, which demonstrate much unconventional behaviour. Heavy-fermion, mixed-valence, many quasi-one-dimensional and two-dimensional systems are in fact related to these compounds. The most investigated among the latter are hightemperature superconductors (HTSC). All these compounds are strongly correlated systems which can demonstrate non-Fermi-liquid behavior.
