ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines the key social and institutional considerations that should be addressed when designing and administering an IUWM data collection and management programme. These considerations come from an assessment of the social and institutional insights in a range of specialist fields including policy design, implementation research, institutional analysis, community indicators, corporate sustainability, sociotechnical studies, urban planning, environmental governance, science communication and environmental reporting.
