ABSTRACT
In a population it is common to measure more than one variable, often with the aim
of determining relationships between them. For example, the speed and direction of
wind or the abundance, grade and location of various mineral deposits. Multivariate
probability distributions allow each separate variable to be characterised along with
their joint distribution that may or may not have relationships between the
variables.
