ABSTRACT

One of the most uncertain variables in the hydraulic analysis of water distribution networks is water demand behavior. It has been recently recognized that residential water demand is stochastic and with that different methodologies have been developed trying to represent this variable. The corresponding method ologies are based on two premises: 1) Water demand is represented by rectangular pulses; 2) The magni tude and occurrence of the pulses are supported on parameters as intensity, duration and frequency.
