ABSTRACT
The management of stormwater generally follows a generally centralised approach. Water is conveyed via storm sewers (or combined sewers) as efficiently as possible downstream, where it is discharged to receiv ing waters, in some cases with prior treatment, but often not. Rarely is the use of stormwater as a resource considered, despite it being available very close to where it is needed (Fletcher et al., 2008).
