ABSTRACT

A 600 kHz acoustic Doppler device was used dur-

ing the field trips for the discharge measurements

(RDInstruments, 2003). The device was coupled to

a navigation GPS and the measurements were mon-

itored on a notebook. The Doppler device was used

through a specially build platform positioned on the

side of a wood boat. The reference used for the mea-

surements was the bottom track mode. No correction

was applied regarding the moving river-bottom. For

each measurement, a minimum of 4 transects were

done for each selected point. The configuration file

used was based on the manufacturer recommenda-

tions, with the exception of the export mode that has

been modified to take into account the device range

depth detection and the cell size.
