ABSTRACT

Sound is generated by moving sources such as cars, trains, airplanes, helicopters, rockets, ships, and submarines. Microphones can be installed on moving platforms such as military vehicles, cars, helicopters, and unattended aerial vehicles (UAVs). Since the sound field produced by a source moving with a constant velocity in a motionless medium is analogous to the field produced by the same source at rest in a uniformly moving medium, moving sources are often considered in the context of acoustics of moving media [37, 144, 264].
