ABSTRACT

Dr Ravindra K Dhir is Director of the Concrete Technology Unit of the University of Dundee. The main areas of research pursued include the various aspects of concrete durability, curing effects, use of cement replacement materials, chemical admixtures and lightweight concrete. He has published and travelled widely. A past chairman of the Concrete Society, Scotland, he is a member of several technical committees in the UK and abroad. Dr M Roderick Jones is Research Fellow in Concrete Technology, University of Dundee. His main research interests are concerned with cement replacement materials, particularly pulverized fuel ash, and corrosion of reinforcement. Mr Jeffrey W Green is Industrial Consultant in Concrete Technology, University of Dundee. Prior to his present position he was employed in a major UK consultancy practice.
