ABSTRACT
In spite of many specifications for preventing deterioration due to freezing and thawing, quite a number of concrete structures are damaged by freezing and thawing. The deterioration seems to be mainly caused by poor construction, but in many cases deterioration could be avoided by careful considerations to questions of design of concrete.
