ABSTRACT
Mr Bechir Ben-Othman is a research assistant at the Department of Civil Engineering, City University, London, UK. He is also writing up his PhD thesis on transport processes through structural lightweight aggregate concrete. Dr Nick R Buenfeld is a lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK. His research centres on the measurement of transport processes in cementitious materials. Current projects Include a study of admixtures that reduce chloride penetration Into concrete, Investigations Into the durability of high strength lightweight aggregate concrete and concrete repair materials and development of cementitious systems to stabilize hazardous waste materials.
