Mr J C Kalra. BSc, MA, CEng, MIStructE is Superintending Civil Engineer and head of Structural Engineering Branch, Building Regulations Division, DOE. He represents UK in the CEC Technical Committee responsible for producing the Interpretative Document for Mechanical Resistance and Stability. He participates in the development of BSI and CEN Codes and Standards (e.g. Structural Eurocodes) relevant to the structural aspects of Building Regulations. He is responsible for providing civil and structural engineering advice to Ministers and directorates in DOE.
