ABSTRACT
Based on the experience of operating the water cooling tower structures the causes of corrosion destructions of the concrete and reinforcement have been analysed. Some suggestions on designing protection of concrete and increasing durability of such structures have been considered. Designing of the primary protection and production of concrete with the specified thickness, water absorption without additional cost have been considered. New criteria in the concrete structural theory have been suggested and possibility of their practical application in construction when selecting concrete compositions and their optimization.
