ABSTRACT
Mr. Yunus Ballim is the Portland Cement Institute Research Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His research is directed mainly at the durability of cover concrete exposed to various aggressive agents. Prof. Mark G Alexander is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His research interests include durability of concrete, fracture mechanics and aggregates for concrete.
