ABSTRACT
Dr Osamu Kiyomiya is a Chief of Structural Mechanics Laboratory, Port and Harbour Research Institute, Ministry of Transport, Yokosuka, Japan. He got his Dr Eng degree at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1984. His recent research work includes: structural analysis and design, earthquake resistant design, repair and maintenance. Hiroshi Yokota is a Senior Research Engineer, Port and Harbour Research Institute, Ministry of Transport, Yokosuka, Japan. He got his MSc degree at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1980. He is actively engaged in research into composite structures and various aspects of structural problems. Dr Tsutomu Fukute is a Chief of Materials Laboratory, Port and Harbour Research Institute, Ministry of Transport, Yokosuka, Japan. He got his Dr Eng degree at Nagoya University in 1985. He has actively undertaken research into durability of concrete and pavement design.
