ABSTRACT

The third generation profiles are trapezoidal unit with both longitudinal and transversal stiffeners, which provide suitable solution for spans up to 12 m without purlins. In order to investigate the main aspects of bending behaviour of the so-called TRP 200, one of the most representative profiles belonging to the third generation, two series of tests were carried out at University of Naples. In the first serie, 20 specimens of naked sheeting were tested under concentrated and distributed loads. In the second serie, 7 specimens of composite structures were tested under concentrated loads. In this paper, the main test results and their analitical and mechanical interpretation are reported.
