ABSTRACT

I r r e s p e c t i v e of the f i e l d of a p p l i c a t i o n (aggregate f o r concrete or road c o n s t r u c t i o n ) , q u a l i t y c o n t r o l of crushed b u i l d i n g rubble makes sense only i f due c o n s i d e r a t i o n i s given to the s p e c i f i c p r o p e r t i e s of t h i s type of m a t e r i a l . Production of r e c y c l e d rubble may show great v a r i a t i o n s i n the course of a day's production. The frequency of manufacturer's q u a l i t y c o n t r o l according to DIN 4226 Part 4 (2) i s i n s u f f i c i e n t to take t h i s i n t o account. On the other hand, i t would be d i f f i c u l t to j u s t i f y the cost of i n c r e a s i n g the frequency of q u a l i t y c o n t r o l beyond that required f o r n a t u r a l aggregates. Therefore i t i s necessary i n the fut u r e to provide s u i t a b l e p r e l i m i n a r y s o r t i n g , storage and mixing i n order to ensure that a day's product i o n may be regarded as a s i n g l e batch.
