ABSTRACT
It was no longer a requirement to state whether materials were to be for re-use or disposal in item descriptions for excavation (E. 1-4 * *), and this served to reduce the number of Second Division descriptive features. The treatment of the excavated material was the subject of totally separate measurement items and the associated costs were included either in newly created items arising from the disposal classification (E. 5 3 *) or in the filling classification (E. 6 * *).
