ABSTRACT
The seeming duplication of items for boring through obstructions was resolved and breaking out of obstructions was measured in hours only (Q. 7 0 0). A new unit of measurement was adopted for cutting off surplus lengths of pile ( Q. 1-6 7 *) and the classification for pile extensions required them to be described as exceeding and not exceeding 3m (Q. 3-6 5&6 *). Similarly, permanent casings had to be identified as either exceeding or not exceeding 13m (Q. 1 3 &4 *). Reinforcement cages were further subdivided into straight bars and helical bars. The separate classification for the disposal of surplus materials was deleted (Q. 7 0 0 in CESMM 1) and the classification of obstructions was simplified (Q. 7 0 0). The classification of pile tests was amended (Q. 8 * *).
