Duhamel’s integral and the numerical solution of the oscillator equation

In the first part of this chapter, we consider the exact solution, in the form of an integral, of the equation of motion of a single-degree-of-freedom oscillator responding linearly to a general forcing function. This solution is known as DuhamePs integral. A couple of examples are worked for the express purpose of recovering solutions obtained by other means in earlier chapters.
