ABSTRACT

My first act as a newly licensed driver was to drive around town tracking down a Nintendo 64. The North American release of the Nintendo 64 system happened just after my sixteenth birthday, and the only thing I wanted more than a driver's license was a copy of Super Mario 64. In my mind, the car was simply a way to quickly get from store to store, an expedient for tracking down the elusive console. I told my girlfriend at the time that, so sorry, we'll have to do the movie thing another time. I have a date with an Italian plumber.
