ABSTRACT

In very general terms, the ‘structures’ on which the engineers’ analyses are developed can be regarded as filtering systems, and the quantities which appear in structural engineering broadly distinguished as three different types, namely:

(1) input quantities that act on the filter; (2) system quantities that define the filter; and (3) output quantities that measure the filter response.
