ABSTRACT
Abstract The b a s i c requirements f o r computer aided mix design i s the p r e d i c t i o n of the p r o p e r t i e s of concrete. Therefore an extensive research p r o j e c t was s t a r t e d to determine the main key-properties of the raw ma t e r i a l s and mix composit i o n . Correct mixing, p l a c i n g and compacting of concrete, which depends on the consistency, i s necessary to reach the expected strength and d u r a b i l i t y . The w o r k a b i l i t y can be improved by i n c r e a s i n g the water content and o p t i m i z i n g the grading of aggregate as w e l l as the p a r t i c l e s i z e d i s t r i b u t i o n of f i n e s i n c l u d i n g binder.
