ABSTRACT
The main property of a seam i s that i t must ensure a continuous seal between two geomembrane sheets to prevent l i q u i d to escape through the impervious layer i n s t a l l e d i n the f i e l d . Consequently discontinuity, unbonded areas and lack of adhesion between the sheets must not be found within a seam.
