ABSTRACT
The HDPE geomembrane sheets may only be assembled through polymer fusion i n which b a s i c a l l y a quantity of energy (heat) i s applied at the sheets interface there by developing new molecular l i n k s between adjacent sheets. Pressure i s also applied on the seam i n order to ensure a homogeneous bond. The objective i s to produce a homogeneous weld zone with the same microstructure and strength c h a r a c t e r i s t i c as the geomembrane.
