ABSTRACT
C l . S t a t i c s p l i t t i n g - t e n s i l e t e s t s between +5 C and -20 C At these t e s t s s t a n d a r d M a r s h a l l specimens are a p p l i e d t h a t are tempered i n water bath f o r 2 hours at +5 C. i n f r e e z i n g box f o r at l e a s t t h r e e hours at -5 and -20 C. The main c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s and e v a l u a t i n g formulae of the s p l i t t i n g t e s t t h a t are known and appear i n the Hungarian s t a n d a r d are i n F i g u r e 5. The l o a d i n g adpater used i n the 100 kN l a b o r a t o r y c u r s h e r i s s u i t a b l e not o n l y f o r t r a n s f e r r i n g l o a d on the c a s i n g but f o r r e c o r d i n g d i a m e t e r i n c r e a s e p e r p e n d i c u l a r to l o a d , i n c r e a s i n g w i t h p r e s s i n g l o a d , e l e c t r o n i c t r a n s d u c e r . In case of i n v e s t i g a t i o n the specimens here r e a l l y s p l i t under s p l i t t i n g - t e n s i l e s t r e s s e s caused by compressing f o r c e . S p l i t t i n g - t e n s i l e s t r e n g t h -S^ h , s p l i t t i n g modulus E^h and s p e c i f i c s p l i t t i n g e l o n g a t i o n v a l u e 8sz = 6"Hh/EHh are determined at every t e s t a c c o r d i n g to F i g u r e 5 at t h r e e temperatures (+5, -5, -20 C ) .
