ABSTRACT

A b s t r a c t With developments i n a n a l y t i c a l design of pavement s t r u c t u ­ r e , there i s an i n c r e a s i n g demand f o r knowledge of the mechanical p r o p e r t i e s of various pavement elements under d i f f e r e n t c o n d i t i o n s encountered i n roads, such as t e n s i l e s t r e n g t h , s t i f f n e s s modulus, and repeated-load f a t i g u e r e ­ si s t a n c e of the asphalt concrete mixtures. These parameters provide a good ba s i s f o r a n a l y t i c a l design and performance e v a l u a t i o n of f l e x i b l e pavements.
