ABSTRACT
This chapter contains a brief presentation of some of the new developments in optimal structural design which have proven to be effective tools in design of structures, and which have the potential of introducing major changes in our approach to optimization of structures. Specifically, our attention will be directed to the generalized geometric programming (GGP) method and its application to problems with both inequality and equality constraints. This represents typical problems in optimization of structures.
