ABSTRACT

In both planning and operating electroacoustical systems, certain requirements stemming from room acoustic considerations have to be met. This also applies to the design of the rooms in which the systems are to function. In order to obtain a sound pattern that is both aesthetically satisfactory and functionally adequate, it is also necessary to take account of the findings of auditory psychophysiology, such as the way the adjusted sound level affects the timbre balance between the lower and medium frequency ranges.
